Job summary

Kearney School District is seeking a High School Assistant Coach for Kearney High School to support the Activities program. The role includes leading practice with a schedule of activities, attending all practices and games, and assisting with equipment, facilities, and event planning.

Candidates should have coaching or HS/College athletic experience, be in good health and able to lift 50 pounds, and hold CPR/First Aid certification plus Missouri teaching or DESE substitute credentials.

Qualifications

• Coaching experience preferred.
• Athletic/sport experience in High School/College preferred.
• Good health & physical condition; able to lift 50 pounds.
• Knowledge of Kearney School District and MSHSSA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead practice sessions with a planned schedule.
• Attend all practices, games, and competitions.
• Report issues to the Activities Director or Head Coach.
• Attend required meetings with the Activities Director.
• Assist in care of equipment and facilities.
• Assist in inventory, storage of equipment and uniforms.
• Plan banquets and awards, and coordinate equipment purchases.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Helps lead practice with a schedule of activities
• Attends all practices/games/competition
• Reports to the Activities Director and/or Head Coach any problems or concerns
• Attends meetings as required by Activities Director
• Assist in the care of equipment and facilities
• Assist in collection, inventory, and storage of equipment and uniforms
• Plans banquet and awards for the athletes, facility improvements, equipment to be purchased, schedule improvements, etc.

Supervisory Duties

Supervises all athletes at contests and locker room
