Job Title: Assistant Store Manager

Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Salary: $14.00 – $15.00 hourly
Department: Operations
Reports to: Store Manager

Position Summary

The Assistant Manager is responsible for maintaining and operating a Company‑owned retail facility in a safe, customer‑focused, and profitable manner. The role supports the Store Manager with daily operations, employee management, and store responsibilities, especially when the manager is absent.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in managing daily operations, employees, payroll, merchandising, and customer relations.
• Maintain positive customer relations and resolve complaints in a timely and professional manner.
• Prepare and transmit daily bookkeeping, invoicing, and gasoline data as required.
• Complete daily banking and ensure accurate cash handling.
• Troubleshoot daily closeout and shift sales analysis.
• Assist with shift coverage when no other employees are available.
• Safeguard and account for cash received and disbursed, and meet banking requirements.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift.
• Lift or carry up to 60 lbs. from ground to waist level as needed.
• Lift or carry up to 30 lbs. from ground to overhead for up to 30 minutes.
• Push and pull with arms up to a force of 20 lbs.
• Bend at waist with some twisting up to 1 hour.
• Grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hand‑eye coordination, including climbing a ladder up to 4 hours.

Working Conditions

• Perform approximately 95% of duties indoors.
• Exposure to intermittent cold temperatures in walk‑in cooler or freezer.
• Work in small spaces and independently with minimal direction.
• Periodic supervision.

Equipment, Tools, and Materials

• Electronic equipment: POS, store telephone, lottery machine, money order machine, phone card machine, EBT machine, Western Union equipment, food‑preparation equipment.
• Manual equipment: cleaning supplies (gloves, mop, broom, degreaser), flat cart, hand truck, grocery basket.
• Handles liquids, cloth, plastic, glass, paper, rubber, and cleaning solvents.
