POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in fostering a customer and product-focused sales environment, aligning with our values and guiding principles. Responsibilities include managing sales operations, asset protection, and human resources to ensure an excellent customer experience and maximize profitability. FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performance Culture
- Analyze sales reports and KPIs to assess business needs; collaborate with the Store Manager to execute sales strategies.
- Establish clear expectations and hold the team accountable for meeting brand, performance, and behavior standards.
- Manage payroll and supply budgets.
- Oversee operational activities such as scheduling, audits, inventory, opening/closing duties, timesheet review, and merchandise flow.
- Handle financial activities including cash handling, price changes, and register transactions accurately.
- Ensure compliance with laws, loss prevention policies, and operating procedures; conduct associate training on controls.
- Manage inventory receipt, dispatch, replenishment, and physical inventories.
- Maintain visual presentation, organization, and facility upkeep to reflect the brand.
- Develop a high-performance culture, motivating the sales team to meet sales and productivity goals.
- Train and coach staff on product knowledge and sales techniques.
Building High Performing Teams
- Motivate and inspire the team, fostering shared vision and core values.
- Promote inclusive, collaborative problem solving.
- Communicate effectively with the team and Store Manager to lead positive change.
- Seek personal development opportunities and feedback to enhance leadership skills.
Customer Experience
- Model and promote the Most Amazing Personal Service (MAPS) principles, offering a seamless omni-channel experience.
- Use sales techniques and product knowledge to assist customers, recommend merchandise, and locate products.
- Promptly resolve customer concerns.
- Ensure efficient register operations, staying current on policies regarding payments, returns, and security.
- Maintain consistent client communication through customer books, rewards, and sign-up programs.
Talent Management
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, and developing a high-performing team.
- Support training programs and assess performance.
- Address HR issues promptly in partnership with the Store Manager.
- Drive engagement through recognition and rewards.
- Ensure adherence to employment policies and practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years retail management experience preferred
- Must be 18 or older
- Excellent communication skills
- Adaptability to company technology
- Proven customer service and sales leadership skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Leadership, training, and team-building skills
- Knowledge of store operations
- Effective communication with customers and staff
- Regular attendance and flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, holidays
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Constant walking/standing (67-100%)
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. (1-33%)
- Frequent climbing (34-66%)
