Overview

DICK’S Sporting Goods is seeking a passionate, people-first store leader to oversee store operations in their area of the store.

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for driving brand and operational excellence by ensuring our team delivers hassle-free and engaging customer service. They focus on coaching, development, wellbeing, and are involved in financial metrics, store performance, and planning.

Responsibilities

1. Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the store department.
2. Plan and organize short-term and long-term strategies with the Store Manager's guidance.
3. Recruit actively in the community and support teammates' community engagement.
4. Partner with the leadership team to hire a diverse team and manage workforce planning, including payroll and scheduling.
5. Ensure team compliance with operational guidelines, brand standards, customer service, and company policies.
6. Drive shrink results through safety, loss prevention, and cash-handling procedures.
7. Communicate transparently and foster an engaging team environment.
8. Coach and develop oneself and others, integrating learning into daily leadership.
9. Create an inclusive environment where everyone feels safe, welcome, and respected.
