Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in Nicholasville, KY. Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, merchandising, payroll & scheduling tasks, loss prevention, and ensuring a clean, compliant store environment.

You will assist the Store Manager in supervising and training staff, maintaining inventory, and delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required/preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and handle frequent walking, standing, and bending.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure store cleanliness and restock bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
