Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in West Point, MS to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandising, staffing, opening/closing, and ensuring policy compliance in a busy retail environment.

The role requires strong communication, customer service skills, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs. Previous store management experience is preferred; part-time schedule with a positive, energetic team culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs., frequent walking, standing, bending, and climbing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Excellent customer service, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain store fixtures and displays for promotional effectiveness
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping including payroll, scheduling, and cash handling
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure store assets including cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follows procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff
• Keep store clean including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal
• Other duties as assigned
