Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in Clinton Township, Michigan. You will assist with daily store activities, organize merchandise, supervise associates, and help drive sales while maintaining company standards.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, with a preferred high school diploma and prior retail leadership experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor as needed.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record-keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash handling), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and team members.
• Maintain store cleanliness, restrooms, floors, and general presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
