Job summary

Dollar Tree in Austintown, OH is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development, and to supervise store associates.

Responsibilities include merchandising, opening/closing procedures, scheduling, payroll, loss prevention, and maintaining a clean, well-stocked store.

Requirements: high school diploma or equivalent, store-management experience preferred, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and ability to lift up to 55 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs.
• Frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits).
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall neatness.
