Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. Under Store Manager direction, you will supervise staff, manage merchandise, handle deposits, and help maximize profitability while protecting assets.

You will also perform stocking and cashier duties, support planograms, and contribute to store operations during the Store Manager’s absence. A high school diploma and retail experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training.
• Manage merchandise receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages and markdowns.
• Support planograms and in-store presentation as directed.
• Ensure cashier accountability, cash handling and deposits.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
