Business Development Manager
Your tasks

Our business unit "Consumer Products" handles Softlines (clothing & footwear), Hardlines, Toys & Children Products, and Electrical & Electronics products.

Position Summary:

The candidate will drive the business growth of CPS in North America by developing existing and pipeline customers to ensure the growth of CPS North America. The role involves working closely with various teams to meet high-quality standards for testing needs within the business category.

Responsibilities:
  • Achieve sales revenue and profit margin targets, considering local industry climates and opportunities.
  • Coordinate with country/divisional managers on sales, pricing, and marketing strategies.
  • Develop strong relationships with quality personnel of key clients.
  • Service ongoing customer needs.
  • Sell a full suite of services including product safety testing, pre-shipment inspection, social compliance auditing, and sustainability services.
  • Promote TUV SUD's sustainability services to help clients meet ESG goals.
  • Attend industry conferences to increase awareness and knowledge.
  • Drive market research to identify trends, opportunities, and market share analysis.
  • Engage with new and prospective clients to tailor testing, inspection, and research services to their needs.
  • Build a compelling and competitive global service offer for key clients.
  • Assist in the sales process through technical presentations, internal training, and proposal development.
Your qualifications

Requirements:

  • Over five years of experience in Retail, Chemical, or Testing industries.
  • Proven success in sales, account management, merchandising, or quality assurance with large retailers, brands, or wholesalers.
  • Knowledge of CPS production cycle and quality assurance stages.
  • Extensive client contacts and awareness of sales trends in Consumer Products.
  • Strong understanding of CPS supply chain, quality, and product specifications.
  • Knowledge of pricing strategies in testing, auditing, and inspection.
  • Ability to interpret technical info into common language.
  • Proactive in new business development.
  • Excellent networking, negotiation, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Customer interaction skills to understand requirements and ensure satisfaction.
  • Organizational skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams, with cultural sensitivity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Confident, efficient, and self-motivated.
