Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC in Orlando, FL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will support the Store Manager and lead our associates to deliver friendly service and efficient merchandising.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, staff training, loss prevention, and maintaining a clean, well-stocked store. The role requires strong communication, physical fitness, and a team‑oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks including walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing and pulling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays’ effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and payroll and scheduling records.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and ensure all store associates follow policies and procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
