Job summary

Peet’s Coffee in Berkeley is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations and grow into a Store Manager role within 12–18 months. The role emphasizes leadership, hands-on coaching, and a strong customer focus, with tuition scholarships and growth pathways.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of management/supervisory experience in service or food industry.
• Maintain open availability and work 40 hours per week.
• Ability to work early mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Perform various physical tasks during shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in achieving financial and operational goals and drive sales.
• Lead the team to deliver exceptional customer experiences through Peet’s service model.
• Use reporting tools with the Store Manager to track progress and identify improvements.
• Create and support a positive team culture through coaching and clear communication.
• Cooperate in recruiting, hiring, and maintaining appropriate staffing levels.
• Assist in managing daily coffeebar operations, including inventory and cash handling.
