Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and ensure the store runs smoothly while maintaining safety and standards.

The role requires strong communication and leadership in a high-energy retail environment. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, with prior store management experience being a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail or similar environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize, transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies; ensure staff follows procedures.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Keep the store clean and presentable, including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
