Job summary

Rack Room Shoes in North Charleston, SC is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations, drive sales, and uphold company policies.

You will lead and train staff, ensure a safe, welcoming shopping environment, manage store responsibilities from POS to inventory, and step in for the Store Manager when needed. The role focuses on service, merchandising, and teamwork to meet objectives.

Responsibilities

• Safety and welfare of employees and customers is prioritized.
• Create and maintain an excellent customer shopping experience and service standards.
• Manage POS transactions, loyalty, pricing changes, markdowns and refunds per policy.
• Oversee inventory control, shipping/receiving and price management.
• Lead merchandising, store presentation and signage according to brand standards.
• Monitor payroll, scheduling, and time/attendance in line with policies.
• Train and develop direct reports, reinforce operational standards.
• Support loss prevention and asset protection measures.
• Develop understanding of day-to-day store operations.
