Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. in Rochester, NY is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development.

You will assist with day-to-day store activities, help customers, organize merchandise, manage opening/closing procedures, and support the Store Manager in training and supervising associates. This full-time position offers opportunities to grow in a busy retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Store management experience in retail or similar environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Able to work in a high-energy team environment and maintain professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain storefront fixtures and displays for promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll records, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and company policies by associates.
• Assist Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing store associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
