Job summary

Dollar Tree in Sherwood, Oregon is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily operations, serve customers, and develop the team. You will assist with opening/closing, stock management, and ensuring store standards.

You will train Store Associates, enforce safety policies, and maintain clean, inviting aisles and displays while meeting corporate directives and achieving sales goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or similar environments is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms, floors, and waste disposal.
• Other duties as assigned.
