Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, deliver outstanding customer service, and develop a capable team. You will assist with day-to-day store activities, help customers, manage merchandise flow from delivery to floor, and support opening and closing procedures.

You will also process directives, maintain displays, and help with payroll, scheduling, and cash handling while upholding safety, policies, and a respectful, high-energy work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process all corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and ensure associates follow policies.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain store cleanliness and restock as needed; manage bathrooms, floors, and trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
