Job summary

Family Dollar in Winder, GA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, deliver excellent customer service, and coach team members.

You will assist with merchandising, opening/closing, payroll and scheduling, loss prevention, and maintain clean, organized areas while upholding company policies. This role requires strong communication, leadership, and a customer‑first approach to create a safe, welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store operations.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process directives related to store activities (Pull/Hold, Task Compliance, etc.).
• Maintain promotional displays and store-front fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise; process damaged merchandise; record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Maintain a neat, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect company assets, including store cash.
• Enforce policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop associates.
• Create a safe, respectful environment with professional interactions.
• Keep store clean, restocked bathrooms, swept/mopped floors, trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
