Job summary

Niemann Foods Management in Champaign, IL, is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in day-to-day operations, ensure excellent customer service, and drive sales growth at the supermarket.

You will lead a team, oversee inventory, maintain displays, train staff, and report on store performance. This role requires strong organizational skills, integrity, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 months related experience and/or training.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations in collaboration with the Store Manager.
• Supervise, train, and mentor store employees to sustain productivity and morale.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing needs and resolving complaints.
• Maintain attractive product displays and up-to-date promotional materials.
• Monitor sales trends and assist in strategies to meet targets and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and laws.
• Assist with inventory control: ordering, receiving, and stock management.
• Provide regular reports on store performance and key metrics.
• Engage with customers to understand needs and offer recommendations.
• Handle other duties as assigned by supervisor.
