Job summary

Family Dollar in Stonewall, Louisiana is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, organize merchandise, and supervise associates to maintain a safe, clean, and inviting shopping environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and handle frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and repetitive motions.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives related to store activities and communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, record-keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked store with organized stockroom and neat floor.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies, safety guidelines, and ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restrooms stocked, floors cleaned, and areas neat.
• Other duties as assigned*.
