Job summary

Famous Footwear in Grove City, OH seeks a full-time Assistant Store Manager to lead the store when the Store Manager is away. You will drive sales, coach a team, and ensure an engaging customer experience across our footwear brands.

You’ll oversee inventory, pricing, and daily operations, hire and develop staff, and promote our Famous Feeling through strong leadership and service. This role requires flexibility and a passion for shoes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of sales experience (retail sales preferred).
• Experience in interviewing, hiring, and training people.
• Ability to lead, manage, motivate, and communicate positively with store Associates.
• Ability to train, coach and develop Associates to provide an engaging customer experience and execute operational tasks.
• Exercises independent judgment partnering with Store Sales Manager.
• Strong cognitive skills, including problem solving, decision making, and financial/quantitative analysis.
• Advanced working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Flexible schedule including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspire associates to build customer relationships and deliver flawless service.
• Recruit and interview external talent in partnership with Store Manager.
• Manage staffing levels and optimize store operations including pricing, shipping, and inventory.
• Use insights to drive sales and store performance.
• Uphold a diverse and inclusive culture and lead by example.
• Act as Store Manager’s right hand and ensure policy compliance.
