Job summary

Famous Footwear is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead a team and deliver the best shoe store experience for families. You’ll coach sales behaviors, manage daily operations, and partner with the Store Manager to achieve sales growth and customer satisfaction. You love shoes and build a positive, inclusive store culture.

In this full-time role, you’ll oversee staffing, performance, and training, while ensuring policy compliance and a high standard of presentation across our brand stores.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of retail sales experience preferred.
• Experience in interviewing, hiring, and training people.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and communicate with store associates.
• Ability to train and develop associates to deliver an engaging customer experience.
• Strong problem solving, analysis, and basic financial acumen.
• Flexible schedule including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspire customer connection and coach selling behaviors to drive service.
• Recruit and hire exceptional talent in partnership with the Store Manager.
• Oversee retail operations: pricing, shipping processing, and inventory control.
• Apply insights to improve location performance and sales results.
• Support a diverse, inclusive culture and maintain team engagement.
• Act as Store Manager's right hand when leadership is unavailable.
