Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear in Elizabeth City, NC seeks an Assistant Manager to assist the Store Manager with day-to-day operations, merchandising, customer service and administrative duties. You will be knowledgeable across product areas and step in for Store Manager when needed, upholding policy, procedures and standards.

You will supervise staff in the Manager's absence, help with scheduling, training, goal setting and reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
• Self-starter, has initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with precision.
• Is a team-player, passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of Hibbett I City Gear.
• Consult with Store Manager in action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assumes responsibility of the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Assist in overall personnel recruiting, training, and evaluation.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments as needed.
• Keep Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
• Direct staff to ensure department responsibilities are met.
• Ensure quality customer service is maintained.
