Job summary

Family Dollar in Nicholasville, KY is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, deliver customer service excellence, and develop the store team.

You will support merchandising, payroll and scheduling, and ensure safety and policy compliance while maintaining a clean, welcoming environment for customers and associates.

This is a full-time position with opportunities to lead and grow within our store network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and deliver exceptional customer service.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling
• Maintain a well-stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure all associates follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Ensure cleanliness and neatness of the store including restrooms and floors
• Other duties as assigned
