Job summary

Family Dollar in Burkesville, KY is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily operations, customer service, and team development. You will support store functions, merchandise flow from truck to floor, scheduling, payroll and loss prevention, and help train Store Associates to maintain a clean, welcoming environment.

This role requires strong communication, the ability to work in a fast-paced team, and commitment to store safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environments preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked, neat store and secure assets including cash.
• Enforce policies and safety guidelines; supervise train and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restocked, and presentable (bathrooms, floors, trash).
• Other duties as assigned.
