Job summary

Shoe Carnival, Inc. is seeking an energetic Assistant Store Manager in Gurnee, IL. This full-time role involves keyholder duties, leading daily store operations, and supporting the General Manager to hit sales goals.

You will supervise and train associates, manage customer service, and maintain store presentation while ensuring loss prevention practices are followed. A 2-year retail background and Key Carrier certification within 60 days are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in retail or customer service.
• Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
• Must complete Key Carrier Certification within 60 days.
• Must be 18+ due to keyholder responsibilities.
• Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store as a key holder.
• Support the General Manager in reaching sales goals.
• Lead customer service efforts and resolve issues professionally.
• Train and guide associates on processes and standards.
• Delegate daily tasks and coordinate breaks.
• Assist with visual merchandising and store presentation.
• Perform register overrides, safe/till counts, and cash reconciliation.
• Follow and promote loss prevention procedures.
