Job summary

GameStop in the United States seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in all facets of store operations. You will build a sales culture by sharing product knowledge and delivering outstanding guest experiences through professional conduct and passion for gaming.

You will supervise Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager, ensuring a clean, organized store and achievement of sales goals.

Qualifications

• Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or accredited bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
• At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
• At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
• Video game knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide best-in-class guest service, greet guests, respond to questions, and promote promotions.
• Support store operations, visual merchandising, and guest relationships to drive sales and loyalty.
• Process guest purchases/returns using POS, handle transactions accurately, and provide receipts.
• Assist in training and supervising Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders.
• Schedule staff, manage onboarding, and ensure compliance and safety policies.
• Manage payroll, time off, and banking deposits; verify cash handling procedures.
• Monitor inventory, stock shelves, and ensure accurate closeout paperwork.
