Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will assist the Store Manager in supervising associates, handling opening and closing duties, merchandising, inventory tasks, and ensuring safety and cleanliness.

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred; prior retail or grocery experience is helpful; strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment.
• Keep store clean including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation.
