Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development at our Delavan, Wisconsin location. You will assist with day-to-day activities, organize merchandise, handle opening/closing, and ensure compliance with corporate directives while maintaining a safe, friendly store environment.

The role requires strong communication and customer service skills, ability to work in a fast-paced team setting, and the physical capability to lift up

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns they may have.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor, ensuring seasonal areas are maintained.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures and ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
