Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC in Omaha, Nebraska seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee store operations, deliver excellent customer service, and support team development in our Omaha location. You will assist with day-to-day activities, organize merchandise, open and close the store, and collaborate with the Store Manager to train associates while upholding company standards and safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays and ensure store cleanliness
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff compliance
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, respectful environment with professional interactions
• Keep bathrooms and store areas clean, restocked, and presentable
• Other duties as assigned
