Job summary

Athletic Shoe Factory is hiring an Assistant Store Manager in New Canaan, CT. This full-time role partners with the Store Manager to drive sales, develop staff, and deliver exceptional customer service in a busy retail environment.

We offer a strong team culture, generous employee discounts, and opportunities for advancement. Salary ranges from $45,000 to $55,000 per year, plus bonuses and incentives; weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Retail management, supervisory, keyholder, or other retail leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to drive sales and provide excellent customer service.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to coach and motivate others.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong judgment and the ability to recognize what needs attention and act without always waiting for direction.
• Self-motivated, dependable, organized, and willing to take initiative.
• Strong time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and follow through.
• Strong merchandising and organizational skills.
• Weekend availability is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team and foster a positive, team-oriented environment.
• Provide exceptional customer service and ensure the team does the same.
• Assist in driving sales and achieving store goals.
• Lead by example with high professionalism, productivity, and service.
• Take initiative, identify needs, and act without waiting for direction.
• Manage time, priorities, and maintain urgency to get tasks done.
• Assist Store Manager with hiring, training, and coaching.
• Provide clear direction and accountability for team members.
• Assist with receiving, stocking, and merchandising inventory.
• Maintain a clean, organized, well-stocked store and positive customer experience.
