Peet’s Coffee in Half Moon Bay, CA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in driving sales, delivering exceptional customer experiences, and upholding Peet’s service model.

This development role trains and coaches team members, assists with recruiting and staffing, and helps manage daily coffeebar operations, including inventory, cash handling, and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years management or supervisory experience in service, food, or related industry.
• Open availability and ability to work 40 hours per week.
• Ability to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
• Compliance with Peet's Minors policies and ability to supervise minors.
• Legal eligibility to work in the country of employment.
• Age 18+ for employment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in achieving financial and operational goals by driving sales and leading the team to deliver exceptional customer experiences through effective deployment and consistent reinforcement of Peet’s service model.
• Use reporting and feedback tools with the Store Manager to inform decisions, track progress toward goals, and identify opportunities to improve performance and drive results.
• Create and support a positive team culture and productive work environment through coaching, communication, and sound judgment; foster camaraderie and help the team navigate change to support employee retention.
• Contribute to employee development and performance by training and providing regular coaching and feedback; recognize and respond to performance issues in partnership with the Store Manager.
• Support the Store Manager with recruiting, hiring, and ensuring appropriate staffing levels to maintain coverage and performance.
• Assist in managing daily coffeebar operations, including inventory control, cash handling, cleanliness, and compliance with safety and labor standards.
