Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear in Norton, VA is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations, merchandising, scheduling, and customer service excellence. You will learn each product area and ensure policies and standards are followed.

In this role you will supervise staff in the Store Manager's absence, help recruit and train team members, analyze inventory and sales trends, and promote service and merchandise.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail environment, preferably footwear/apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling store assets and operations.
• Help establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering and scheduling.
• Serve as acting manager in the Store Manager's absence.
• Support recruiting, training and evaluation of personnel.
• Provide guidance to employees and customers across departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics and expenses to ensure profitability.
• Direct staff to meet department responsibilities and standards.
• Keep management informed about inventory movement and trends.
• Deliver outstanding customer service per the service manual.
• Promote and sell services and merchandise offered by the store.
• Uphold company policies and procedures as documented.
• Ensure internal controls safeguard assets and information.
