Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development at our Reading, PA location. You will assist with daily store activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and support the Store Manager in supervising and training staff.

The role emphasizes maintaining a safe, friendly environment, ensuring store standards, and handling opening/closing duties. Part-time role with a focus on delivering excellent customer experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash handling), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness, restocking bathrooms and floors, and keeping areas neat.
• Other duties as assigned.
