Job summary

Dollar Tree in DeKalb, IL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run store operations, provide excellent customer service, and develop the team. You will assist with daily activities, merchandise handling, and adherence to policies while supporting the Store Manager.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and prior store management experience is preferred. Candidates must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and work in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize, stock, and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and store front fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record-keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Ensure adherence to policies, safety guidelines, and procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for customers and associates.
• Other duties as assigned.
