Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of New Jersey LLC in Teaneck is seeking a part-time store associate/trainee to support daily operations, assist customers, stock merchandise, and help maintain clean, organized areas of the store.

You will participate in opening/closing procedures, follow corporate directives, and help train Store Associates while keeping a friendly, safe, and productive shopping environment for guests and coworkers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and handle frequent movement and standing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor, maintaining seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional displays and assist in ordering merchandise and loss prevention.
• Support in payroll, scheduling, and cash receipts, ensuring store assets are protected.
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates; foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment.
