Job summary

Family Dollar in Montgomery, AL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run store operations, deliver excellent customer service, and develop a cohesive team. You will support day-to-day functions, assist with merchandising, and ensure the store meets company standards.

The role requires strong communication, ability to lead and train associates, and a readiness to handle opening and closing procedures. The position is full-time and on-site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Store management experience in retail or similar environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Assist in organizing merchandise and maintaining seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and store communications
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, handling damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store and secure assets
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures
• Train and develop Store Associates
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment
• Maintain store cleanliness including restrooms and floors
• Other duties as assigned
