Job summary

Dollar Tree seeks an Assistant Store Manager in Bondurant, IA to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and ensure store standards are met.

The role involves opening/closing procedures, following directives, maintaining displays, and supporting payroll/scheduling while fostering a safe, friendly environment. Prior retail management and strong communication are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environments preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and handle physical duties.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy team environment.
• Strong customer service, organization, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Follow corporate directives and communicate store activities.
• Maintain fixtures, displays, and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, process damaged goods, keep records (including payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect assets and cash; adhere to safety policies.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness including restrooms, floors, trash, and overall neatness.
• Other duties as assigned.
