Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Creston, IA to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store functions, merchandise flow, opening/closing, and loss prevention while ensuring a clean, friendly shopping environment.

This role requires strong communication and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced retail setting. Part-time position with a focus on delivering excellent service and operating in accordance with company

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and meet physical demands of the role.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays to maximize effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits/receipts), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked store and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Ensure store is clean, bathrooms stocked, floors swept/mopped, trash removed, and areas presentable.
• Other duties as assigned.
