Job summary

Dollar Tree in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store functions, help customers, and help transfer merchandise from delivery to floor.

The role emphasizes leadership, training Store Associates, and ensuring a clean, safe, and friendly shopping environment. You will follow corporate directives and maintain store appearance and assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks including walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, and pulling.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record-keeping ( payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits and receipts), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and team members.
• Ensure cleanliness of the entire store including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
