Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus in Raton, NM. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, and assist with deposits and store paperwork to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

You will balance cashier accountability, planogram execution, scheduling, and training while upholding company policies and safeguarding assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment.
• Six months of supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service; greet customers and operate POS to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with employee scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise including receiving, stocking, rotation, and displays.
• Support inventory accuracy by controlling damages and markdowns and verifying scans.
• Assist with planograms and ensure proper product presentation.
• Support cash control: refunds, deposits, till counting and cash security.
• Assist with store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
