Job summary

Family Dollar in Shreveport, LA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, deliver excellent customer service, and help develop the store team. You will assist with opening and closing, merchandise flow, and loss prevention.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and experience in retail management. A high school diploma is preferred, with a commitment to safety and policy compliance while maintaining a clean, well-organized store

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery or drug store environments preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Assist in loss prevention and payroll, scheduling, and cash handling tasks.
• Supervise, train and develop Store Associates; maintain clean, well-stocked store.
