Job summary

Crosby’s Stores is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help lead daily store operations in New York. You will support the Team Leader in creating a clean, efficient, and welcoming environment while delivering exceptional customer service and driving store success.

You will supervise team members, maintain high standards, and ensure a great experience for every customer, every day. This is a hands-on role with growth opportunities in a busy retail setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to work 40+ hours per week, including weekends.
• Serve Safe certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Experience preferred.
• Proficient in basic math for cash handling and shift reports.
• Ability to operate lottery, POS systems and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver prompt, friendly, and professional service to every customer.
• Prepare fresh food and made-to-order items per Crosby’s standards.
• Promote and assist customers with My Crosby’s Rewards enrollment.
• Drive sales with suggestive selling and add-on recommendations.
• Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency and profitability.
• Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and brand standards.
• Support merchandising, promotions, and inventory management.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, tobacco, and alcohol regulations.
• Train, coach, and support store associates.
• Assist with scheduling and staffing levels.
• Provide feedback on employee performance and development.
• Assist with inventory control, audits, and reporting.
• Handle cash deposits and daily bank deposits.
• Review timekeeping and payroll processing.
• Report discrepancies and maintain records.
• Maintain safe and secure store environment.
• Follow opening/closing procedures and cash security policies.
• Monitor equipment and store conditions.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
