Job summary

NAPA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead daily operations, customer care, and sales in our California store. You will partner with the Store Manager across inventory, schedules, and personnel to ensure outstanding service and store performance.

Ideal candidates bring automotive knowledge, leadership experience, and a customer-first mindset; you will coach team members, manage opening/closing routines, and contribute to safe, efficient store operations in a fast-paced retail environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school courses or degree completion.
• Experience in the automotive after-market service industry or willingness to learn automotive topics.
• Leadership experience with coaching and developing team members.
• Passion for delivering customer care and building long-term relationships.
• Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems; ASE certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Store Manager on operations, sales, inventory health, and labor alignment.
• Actively sell and build customer relationships across retail and wholesale channels.
• Oversee opening and closing routines, cash reconciliation, and end-of-day reporting.
• Handle scheduling input, compliance documentation, performance tracking, and basic P&L awareness.
• Monitor store metrics and drive problem solving for better outcomes.
• Provide leadership, training, and performance management for store functions.
