Job description

The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance, and store operations. This position will manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence and/or when working opposing shifts. The Assistant Manager will lead the store team members in servicing customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  1. Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
  2. Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom, including team member execution of customer service programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc.).
  3. Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak hours (lunch, late afternoons, evenings, weekends).
  4. Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching/mentoring, and ensuring ongoing training.
  5. Assist in recruiting by participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating on hiring decisions.
  6. Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
  7. Ensure timely processing of buy online/ship to store, transfers, and orders, and contact customers upon shipment arrivals as needed.
  8. Utilize electronic purchase order ledger for efficient handling of special orders and outside purchases.
  9. Process retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently and accurately, issuing refunds via the correct payment methods, and handling returned merchandise properly.
  10. Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, are invoiced before leaving the store.
  11. Communicate Zipline messages, delegate merchandising tasks, and complete assigned duties.
  12. Ensure team compliance with policies, schedules, and clock-in/out procedures.
  13. Perform all opening/closing duties, including day-end procedures, securing deposits, preparing bank deposits, and securing the store and delivery vehicles.
  14. Assist in maintaining the store building, parking lot, signage, lighting, hardware, equipment, and vehicles.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills/Education/Knowledge/Experience/Abilities
Required:
  • Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification, and RSS Certification.
  • Certified Parts Professional Certification; ASE Certification.
  • Fluency in multiple languages, with Spanish highly desired.
