Position Overview

The Solutions Manager is a key driver for the guest experience and leading a selling culture in the Pet Care Center, aligned with Petco’s vision of “Healthier Pets. Happier People. Better World.” They serve as the Selling Model champion, coaching and mentoring team members in selling and engagement to support customer experience. They assist the General Manager in hiring, developing, scheduling, and managing a high-performing team that drives top-line sales across all categories, including services, while managing operational standards and safety procedures.

Position Responsibilities

• Use business acumen to analyze trends and implement improvement plans.
• Drive guest-centric programs to meet and exceed sales targets.
• Lead with an Omni Channel sales mindset to meet guest needs (e.g., Services, Vet Services, Loyalty, BOPUS, Endless Aisle, Delivery).
• Support Pet Care Center operations, training, communication, and company initiatives.
• Process transactions to create a great guest experience.
• Support and role model selling behaviors and guest interactions.
• Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop team members to meet Petco standards.
• Manage weekly schedules for optimal sales coverage and engagement.
• Promote a positive, inclusive leadership culture with a focus on teamwork and passion for pets.
• Maintain replenishment and brand standards in partnership with operations.
• Display and champion Petco Leadership Expectations.

Other Essential Duties

• Model inspiring leadership and promote a positive business climate.
• Ensure safety policies and procedures are followed, prioritizing the safety of partners, guests, and pets.
• Foster a collaborative culture that encourages ideas and efficiency improvements.
• Prioritize talent development through training and leadership opportunities.
• Represent Petco’s brand positively and lead with high standards in a fun environment.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Minimum 2 years management experience, 3+ preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant applications.
• Strong skills in business practices, finance, analysis, problem-solving, and people development.
• Ability to demonstrate excellent guest service and instruct others.

Supervisory Responsibility

• Supervise Solutions team members including LOD, Generalists, Specialists, Grooming Salon Leaders, and Dog Trainers.
• Collaborate with Vetco and Vet Hospital teams on guest strategies.
• Participate in hiring and talent retention efforts.

Work Environment

This role requires support during peak hours, including weekends. Most duties are indoors, but occasional physical tasks may be necessary. Some travel may be required.
