About the Position:

As our Assistant Store Manager, you will be an ambassador of the store, demonstrating excellent hospitality for both guests and team members. You will work with the Store Manager to strengthen team engagement, maximize productivity, and drive business results.

The pay range for this position is $24.44 - $36.67 per hour.

What You'll Do:

• Serve as a store ambassador, exemplifying hospitality to guests and team members; educate on products and services
• Create and manage team schedules aligning with shopping hours to ensure an excellent shopping experience
• Assist in analyzing sales, P&L reports, and other metrics to inform business decisions
• Support forecasting and team maintenance by collaborating with the Store Manager and Talent Acquisition
• Partner with Guest Services to provide a hospitable onboarding experience for new team members
• Assist in training team members via The Fresh Market Academy and on-the-job training
• Coach team members to optimize operations, develop skills, and increase retention
• Help manage store inventories and minimize product loss
• Ensure team adherence to company standards and policies
• Manage the store’s social media presence following company guidelines
• Collaborate with managers to enhance teamwork and engagement
• Ensure safety and food safety compliance according to policies and laws

Availability:

This role requires flexibility to work weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

Qualifications:

Minimum requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent; 5-7 years of retail experience, including leadership
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team, management, and guests
• Ability to interpret planograms, layouts, and policies

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in perishables, hospitality, or grocery retail
• Experience with production planning software
• Experience with applicant tracking software (iCIMS preferred)

Physical and Work Conditions:

• Repetitive movements, lifting up to 50 pounds, exposure to temperature extremes
• Use of tools and equipment like knives, ladders, pallet jacks
• Long periods standing or walking, wearing protective gear
