Job summary

Land of Lincoln Goodwill (LLGI) is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to collaborate with the Store Manager and oversee all store operations, including donations processing, sales, staff management, and budget oversight.

You will lead staff and volunteers, coach performance, maintain policy compliance, and support financial targets while promoting the organization’s mission and values across a diverse team.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2 years retail experience with at least 1 year supervising others.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and POS software.
  • Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within six months.
  • DSP training or ability to complete within one year.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee store operations in Store Manager’s absence.
  • Direct activities of staff and volunteers to ensure accurate processing and reporting.
  • Communicate the organization’s mission, vision, and values and promote diversity.
  • Train, coach, and provide feedback to staff for development.
  • Assist in recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, and coaching staff.
  • Demonstrate leadership and model behavior for retail staff.
  • Manage time and monitor staff to ensure tasks are completed.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and facilities.
  • Support budget development and financial performance.
  • Perform bank deposits and cash-handling duties.
  • Travel to locations within the LLGI territory as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized sales floor.

The Assistant Store Manager position is considered a developmental role with the goal being to advance to a Manager position.Essential Job Duties1.
