Job description

The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance, and store operations. This position will manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence and/or when working opposing shifts. The Assistant Manager will lead the store team members in servicing customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  1. Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
  2. Supervise customer service levels in the retail showroom, including execution of customer service programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc.).
  3. Work with the store manager to ensure adequate staffing during peak hours.
  4. Assist in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching, mentoring, and ensuring ongoing training.
  5. Participate in hiring processes, including recruiting, interviewing, and candidate evaluation.
  6. Ensure telephone answering aligns with company policy.
  7. Process online orders, ship-to-store, transfers, and add orders promptly, notifying customers as needed.
  8. Manage special orders and outside purchases efficiently using electronic ledgers.
  9. Handle customer returns and exchanges professionally, ensuring accurate refunds and proper merchandise processing.
  10. Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, are invoiced before leaving the store.
  11. Communicate Zipline messages and delegate merchandising tasks as assigned.
  12. Ensure team compliance with policies, schedules, and clocking procedures.
  13. Perform store opening/closing duties, including end-of-day procedures, deposits, security checks, and vehicle security.
  14. Assist in maintaining the store building, parking lot, signage, hardware, and delivery vehicles.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES

Required: Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification, RSS Certification

Desired: Certified Parts Professional Certification, ASE Certification

Fluency in multiple languages, especially Spanish, is highly desired.
