Job Summary

Assist the Store Manager and Manager In Training with recruiting, hiring, training, and managing store personnel to achieve sales goals, control expenses, and protect company assets.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Meet and exceed sales goals and performance standards.
  2. Assist in recruiting and hiring high-caliber employees.
  3. Train and develop a successful sales team.
  4. Provide feedback, coaching, and enforce company policies.
  5. Implement company initiatives to standard.
  6. Recognize talented staff and develop them for growth.
  7. Supervise daily store operations in the absence of Store Manager and M.I.T.
  8. Manage Loss Prevention practices.
  9. Communicate store needs effectively.
  10. Resolve customer issues effectively.
  11. Provide a fun, full-service customer experience.
  12. Complete bank deposits.
  13. Demonstrate and embody the Journeys culture.
Job Requirements
  1. Prior retail management experience preferred.
  2. 6–12 months retail sales experience.
  3. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  4. Desire to succeed in a fast-paced retail environment.
  5. Willingness to learn.
  6. Completion of training programs leading to Co-Manager position or equivalent.
  7. Ability to work 45 hours per week, including nights and weekends.
  8. Ability to climb, reach, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  9. Stand for long periods.
  10. Must be at least 18 years old.*
  11. Age requirements may vary by state for full-time employment.
